The Torridon’s Story

The Torridon House was originally built as a hunting lodge in 1887. Due to its remote location, all materials had to be shipped in by boat and the soil in the kitchen garden was shipped over from Ireland.

After being acquired by the Gregory family in 1992, it was reopened in 1993 as The Loch Torridon Country House Hotel, and since then the family has invested a lot in both time and resources to establish the hotel as a leading UK luxury property.

The Hotel comprises 18 unique bedrooms and suites boasting a blend of Scottish heritage and Victorian era features.

Its most striking areas are definitely the Torridon Inn, whisky bar and the newly revamped 1887 restaurant, featuring local produce like Scrabster monkfish and Brahan Estate venison.

While you’re there make sure to say hello to their iconic shaggy Highland Cows roaming the grounds.

The Torridon has been part of the HART family since 2010.
